Embira simply means 'beads' in Luganda, the language of central Uganda. It's where our business started, in the capital city of Kampala, a vibrant and friendly metropolis that just happens to have a fantastic selection of crafts for sale. Robert started embira by creating unique jewellery using the natural materials that could be found in the city. Now living in Norwich, U.K., we (Robert and Sophie) source colourful accessories, clothing and crafts from Uganda. Many of these are commissioned by us and handcrafted by a team of skilled artisans. Sometimes we travel to Uganda ourselves and other times our colleague Mable works with us to liaise with a team of small-scale craftspeople to source our items.

We sell regularly at events in the Norwich and Norfolk area. Do have a look at the 'events' page to see where we will be next.

Bespoke designs are possible. Please do get in touch with us by emailing embirajewellery@gmail.com or by completing our online contact form, and we can see what is possible.

Our next event is the fantastic Global Village Christmas Market at The Forum, Norwich, on Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th December!

Come join us! We will be there for all three days, as part of the indoor market. Plus on the Saturday, outside, there will be delicious hot food and some fabulous performances from brass bands and choirs!
